Awards Ceremony at Axis Hull Branch

Written by admin. Posted in News

Hull Axis supplementary school is known by its different educational activities. During the Christmas holidays, groups of years from 1 to GCSE’s have been using the IXL maths program which helped them to improve their problem solving skills.

Students that attend Hull Axis supplementary school have continuously joined the extra workshops during the holidays. The IXL maths program has been used by the students both at homes and in the workshops in order to cover up the areas that needed improving. At the end of the holidays, Axis staff proudly announced that the total number of hours of IXL used by all of the students during the Christmas holidays was 576.

This clearly indicated that the holiday has been spent very beneficially by the students and that they were very determined to succeed together with their parents ‘support. An award ceremony has been arranged by the Axis staff in order to give prizes to students who have managed to secure a place in top three of their year groups.

Student’s and parent’s happiness was something to be seen during the presentation. Everybody from year 1 up to GCSE group was delighted and proud to be awarded for their hard work. At the end of the ceremony, both the parent’s and the teacher’s of the students wish that this success would continue.

Inactive IXl accounts to be suspended

Written by admin. Posted in News

Through out the academic year we have had many student’s joining Axis and benefiting from our online learning resources. To ensure that we continue to provide these services we will only issue accounts to those student’s whom will actively use these accounts.

We have identified that a number of student’s have not used any of these tools therefore we will delete their accounts and offer their space to other students.

If you child’s account was deleted recently there will be an additional fee to re-open their accounts.

Written by admin. Posted in News, Uncategorized

The Hull branch of the Axis visited Hull Young People’s Parliament and took part in an event alongside young volunteers. The event was organised by Hull City Council in order to encourage young people to take part in civic matters and help develop new and innovative projects in conjunction with the council. The event started with a welcome speech presented by local councillors and then continued with a Q&A session with the young volunteers.

The volunteers were also invited to take part in a roundtable discussion with the councillors where they raised issues that concerned them about health, housing, racism, discrimination, bullying safety and public transport. The event then continued in the parliament seat where all the motions by the volunteers were voiced once again and the voting took place.

Volunteers from the Hull branch of Axis Saturday School stated that they are committed to involving the younger generations to join in withsimilar acitivities across the city of Hull.
